Sound and the Desert

  • Desert Botanical Gardens (Binn’s Wildflower Pavilion in the Wildflower Garden) 1201 North Galvin Parkway Phoenix, AZ, 85008 United States (map)

Come feel the vibrations and hear the lovely sounds of Tibetan Singing Bowls while enjoying the beauty and serenity of the Desert Botanical Gardens. Tibetan bowls have been used for centuries for healing and meditation. The range of sounds create a pulsating tone, which can restore vibratory frequencies at the cellular level and throughout our nervous system. All matter is energy vibrating at different rates. By altering the rate of vibration absorbed, we can change the structure of matter and therefore create harmony in both the body and the mind. Tibetan bowls can deliver a 7-8 Hertz per second relaxation response, entraining the brain toward a Theta brain wave state, which induces meditative and peaceful states by decreasing the heart rate, blood pressure and muscle tension, thereby disrupting our stress response common to our modern world. All bowls used in this class are "fair trade" and hand hammered in Nepal. You will be mostly lying down, so bring your favorite blanket/pillow/mat.

Please register through the Desert Botanical Gardens Website. Scroll all the way down until you find the Tibetan Singing Bowl class. Price includes full admission to the Desert Botanical Gardens. $27 for DBG members, $34 for the general public. When you enter the garden, go straight to Binn’s Wildflower Pavilion in the Desert Wildflower Loop Trail!
