Do You Know What To Do?
Happy Wednesday! Here is your short and sweet wellness tip.
We can get really stuck in overanalyzing when we are trying to make decisions. Often people turn to the Internet for answers. The problem is that if things are said and then repeated, it becomes familiar to us and then the familiarity can give an illusion that it is true. With each exposure to a piece of information, we process it more easily and we learn to accept it. However, we still can make the wrong decisions. Just because things work for others, or others say it is the way, we always have to check in with our own body and trust our gut.
When we are quiet, we can get a flash of clarity and a feeling of peace. We can also see if there is any tightness and tension in the body if we are going down a path that is not good for us. Our body is a great teacher. Check out this neuroscience article on the gut instinct and see if it resonates with you.
Tip: Take a moment and stay very still and put your attention on your breath. Feel your body. Then begin to consider the subject of your decision and see what changes arise in your body. If the decision brings tightness or resistance, it is not the right decision. If it brings calm and clarity, it is. Trust yourself!
