This Happened. Now What?

Everyone who has ever existed has gone through something hard. Some of us have suffered more than others. But we have also survived, and we have to remember that. This ability to bounce back is an innate human capacity that we all have and we can deepen these skills. We do it. If you are still here on this planet, you have done it before, and you can do it again. All people have the ability to develop the skills that will deepen their path to resilience.

What is it that makes us able to pick up the pieces? By focusing your attention on your strengths and positive self-talk, it will help you to pull yourself through.

According to studies in biotechnology, positive emotions can help someone bounce back from a negative experience. We spend our whole lives with ourselves. We can focus on what happened to us, or focus on healing from what happened to us. Remembering that you are resilient can help you focus on your strengths and our human capacity to recover from whatever happened.

Tip: When going through a stressful situation or when remembering a stressful situation, know your own coping skills and use them. Reframe what happens to you in a positive manner. Maybe focus on what you learned or how you have grown from the situation. If you are not able to do that yet, reframe how you speak about it like this: “I just went through something that was hard for me, but I am working toward healing from it now.
