Moving from Anxiety to Trust!
Is your ability to trust waning? It can be difficult when we have been bombarded with confusion, or when we see the world as divided, or if we have first trusted and then we were let down. When this happens in the workplace, we can have anxiety at the place where we make our livelihood.
There are many businesses that struggle with keeping employees, so they are creating workplace benefits so that people will stay in their jobs. It is very clear that an employee-centric culture is good for business. So maybe at your workplace you have “dress-down Fridays,” family picnic days, holiday parties or even end-of-the-year bonuses. These ad hoc perks may provide some sense of momentary feeling that the company cares, but the evidence shows that they do not have any lasting effect on employee retention or job performance.
In looking at research studies on trust, we see that when companies create a high-engagement environment where employees can build strong connections, it often leads to positive outcomes for both individuals and organizations. Building a culture of trust is what makes a difference. Employees are more productive, have more energy at work, collaborate better with their colleagues, and stay with their employers longer. They also have lower stress levels and are generally happier. Building a culture of trust can increase personal growth, work-life balance and the ability for self-reflection. Having a good employee wellness program can help with that.
In the meantime, its really important in the human experience that we all work toward trusting more - whether its in the workplace or within personal relationships. We may not be able to control what others do, but we can take some steps to build our own ability to trust the process of life exactly as it comes. It seems that when we move from anxiety to trust, and release any resentments, we end up being exactly where we were meant to be.
Tip: Get yourself in a quiet place and breathe. Feel the space around you. Know that Universe is abundant and therefore it has everything you need and you are part of this Universal space. Sometimes people are not right to us, but when we let go of what we cannot control, we can come back to ourselves, comfort ourselves through it, and trust the process of life as it is.
